Listen Into Life

Listen into Life is a four year part time residential program in spiritual direction, with an annual intake.

Listen into Life is a four year part time residential program in spiritual direction, with an annual intake.

This program assists both lay and ordained people in their spiritual lives and trains them in the important work of being ‘soul-friends’ to others.

Participants are in residence for four weekends each year, at St Joseph’s Spirituality and Education Centre, Kincumber South, NSW.

Each weekend features lectures, workshops, quadrads and seminars on spirituality and spiritual direction, plus worship inspired by various Christian traditions.

Next intake will be in 2022. Applications close 25 November, 2021.

Soul Journey Companions

Soul Journey Companions is a three year part time program in spiritual direction.

Soul Journey Companions is a three year part time program in spiritual direction with a triannual intake.

This program assists both lay and ordained people in their spiritual lives and trains them in the important work of being ‘soul friends’ to others.

This program is based in Canberra and participants gather eight times a year over Friday and Saturday, for sessions with a focus on spirituality and spiritual direction.

During the first two years, participants engage in monthly lectures, quadrads and seminars over two semesters each year.

The third year is an supervised practicum – participants begin to work with outside directees with individual supervision – with monthly group meetings.

The next intake is anticipated to be in 2022.

Soul Space

Soul Space is a one year program for the formation of retreat leaders.

Soul Space is a program for the formation of retreat leaders.

The program is for both lay and ordained people who are called to develop their contemplative dimension and  their capacity to generate spiritual and reflective environments for others.

It is experientially based with a focus on the gifts/skills needed to facilitate quiet days and one-day retreats.

Soul Space is run in conjunction with Soul Journey Companions, with some common sessions. The next intake is therefore contingent on a new Soul Journey Companions cohort commencing, potentially in 2022.

The key themes are:

  1.  Preparing oneself as a retreat leader
  2.  Preparing participants
  3.  Preparing retreats
  4.  Reflecting on experience
  5.  Practicum

and involves workshops, practical experience of quiet days, communal worship, and individual and group reflection.

Soul Space can be completed in one year.  Those who wish to focus on leading longer retreats have the option of completing Stage Two.
